National Science Foundation Career Award - Aquaponics

As we've mentioned before, we think aquaponic systems are pretty neat. I recently saw an article on the UW-Madison website that highlighted a student who received the National Science Foundation Career Award for the research she will be doing with Aquaponics. Andrea Hicks, an assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will be studying how aquaponic growing has a lower carbon footprint and produces less waste than traditional farming.

Sustainable farming will continue to become increasing important as the world population grows. It's good to see we've got talented researchers on the job!
